ART GALLERY, NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE, THEATRE/THEATER | Butte

Come out and play at the Covellite Theatre in Uptown Butte, Montana, where you are welcomed with a wink and a smile. It's all about being yourself and having a good time, with events designed to make connections easy and smiles abundant. Whether diving into a local theater production or grooving to a live band, this is your place to belong. The Covellite Theatre is a medium-capacity (350 seat) proscenium stage venue that hosts live music, film screenings, weddings, festivals, and more. The Uptown Lounge on the ground floor is an intimate (150 capacity) scene for live music and parties, with a bar, cabaret seating, and a black box stage.

Originally built in 1896 as the First Presbyterian Church, this stunning historic structure has served many purposes over the decades, and was first named The Covellite Theatre in the 1990's. "Covellite" is a rare, iridescent indigo blue copper sulfide mineral found in Mount Vesuvius, Germany, Argentina, and Silver Bow County, Montana, to name a few. Today the venue hosts a wide variety of events including: live music, stage plays, comedy, film, dance lessons, vaudeville, burlesque, workshops, classes, and fundraisers. At the Covellite Theatre, your presence is part of the magic and your laughter is the soundtrack.
