Stay here, and you're just a mile from the entrance to Going-to-the-Sun Road, the 52-mile highway that climbs across Glacier National Park's spectacular alpine spine. But the view is almost as good from your campsite here at the park's eastern edge, where towering granite peaks frame the St. Mary River and Lake.
Pick up lunch fixings at the KOA grocery store and gift shop, then board a Glacier tour bus at the campground entrance. If you want to give your dog a day off while you explore, your hosts even offer pet kenneling. Or stick close to camp, where you can rent boats for exploring the lower lake. The AOK Barbecue serves up hearty breakfasts and chicken or burgers for dinner, or order a house made pizza delivered to your cabin or site. At night, count the stars while relaxing in the outdoor hot tub and pool.
